Terms of use

Last updated: 2 November 2026

These terms of use (“terms”) apply to the Germanual browser extension, the website germanual.online and the online service behind them (together “Germanual”). Germanual is provided by BERLIN GMBH LLC, 212 N. 2nd St. STE 100, Richmond, KY 40475, United States (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Germanual, you agree to these terms.

1. What Germanual does

Germanual is an application assistant for jobs in Germany. When you click it, it:

  • explains the job ad open in your browser in English or Turkish;
  • explains an online application form field by field and suggests what to enter, based on your profile; a suggestion is written into a field only when you click to insert it;
  • writes a cover letter in German (Anschreiben) for that job.

Answers and letters are generated by an AI model (Claude, provided by Anthropic). Germanual is not a recruitment agency and does not place you in a job. It does not give legal, immigration or tax advice.

Germanual never submits an application or a form for you, never solves captchas or bypasses security checks, and never collects pages in bulk.

2. Who can use Germanual

You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may buy a subscription only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with your Google account. Keep access to it secure; you are responsible for what happens in your Germanual account.
  • Your account is personal. Do not share it or let others use it.
  • Keep your profile accurate. Suggestions and letters are based on what you enter.

4. Free trial

Some features, such as the form-field glossary and the job fact sheet, are free without an account. New accounts get 1 free analysis (a page summary, an explanation of form fields or a cover letter), with no payment card needed. Each person may use the free analysis once; creating extra accounts to get more free analyses is not allowed.

5. Subscription, price and renewal

  • The subscription is monthly. The price is US$7.99 per month, taxes included. The checkout page shows the amount in your local currency; the exact amount depends on the exchange rate.
  • The subscription renews automatically every month and is charged at the start of each month until you cancel.
  • If we change the price, we will tell you in advance. The new price applies from your next billing month, and you can cancel before then.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time in the Stripe customer portal or on link.com. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for: you keep access until then, and you won't be charged again. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current month.

7. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Where Stripe Managed Payments is used, Stripe acts as the reseller (merchant of record) for the order and handles applicable taxes; in that case Stripe's terms also apply to the purchase. We never see or store your card number.

8. Refunds and immediate start

Refunds are not provided as a rule. The only exception is a first purchase: within 7 days of your first payment, if the subscription has hardly been used. Renewals are never refunded. The details are in our refund policy.

The service starts immediately after payment, and at checkout you agree to this immediate start. Under Turkish distance-contract rules, services performed instantly in electronic form are an exception to the right of withdrawal. If you live in the EU or EEA, your right of withdrawal ends once the service has started with your express consent, to the extent the law allows. Mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

9. Acceptable use

Germanual is for your own job applications. You must not:

  • use bots, scripts or other automation with Germanual, or use it to submit applications automatically;
  • use Germanual to collect pages or data in bulk (scraping);
  • try to bypass captchas, security checks or the rules of the websites you use;
  • share your account, resell the service or use it to provide services to others;
  • copy, decompile or reverse engineer the extension or the service, or try to get around its limits;
  • enter false information about yourself or other people, or use Germanual for anything unlawful.

To protect the service for everyone, unusually heavy use may be limited.

10. Your responsibility

  • Check every answer, suggestion and letter before you use it. Answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes or miss details of the job ad.
  • You decide what you enter in a form and what you send. You are responsible for the content of your application.
  • Germanual does not guarantee an interview or a job.

11. Your content

Your profile and the texts you enter remain yours. You allow us to use them only to provide Germanual to you. You may freely use the letters Germanual writes for you in your applications.

12. Our rights

The Germanual software, name, logo and website belong to BERLIN GMBH LLC. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Germanual in line with these terms.

13. Availability and changes

We work to keep Germanual available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always work without interruption or with every website. Websites change, and some pages or forms may not be read correctly. We may improve or change features over time. If a change significantly reduces what your paid subscription includes, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Germanual is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost opportunities such as an unsuccessful application. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, for example for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

15. Ending your use

You can stop using Germanual at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where possible, we will tell you first.

16. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kentucky, United States. Disputes will be decided by the state courts of Kentucky and the U.S. federal courts located in Kentucky. If you are a consumer, this does not affect the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Germanual gets new features or the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with a new date. We will tell you about important changes in advance; if you don't agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
